Once again that man Jake Humphrey is tweeting pics from the scene. More later, but while there’ll surely be a LOT of discussion of the MP4-25, it’ll be more about what’s under the paint job than the livery itself. Here it is, anyway:
Interesting to note, incidentally (as gareth already has in the comments just as it occurred to me!) that Santander no longer seem to appear on the car, but are still on the drivers’ uniforms…

Haha, that was quick! The live stream is still happening! Not much to say livery-wise though is there? I did hear Martrin Whitmarsh mention Santander at one stage – unless my eagle eye fails me (which is quite probable after the number of ciders i’ve had tonight) but where are they on the car? Or are they just on the overalls?
Interesting to hear Martin discuss retaining silver on the car – he mentioned it being part of a McLaren brand now, as well as retaining a Mercedes powerplant and link.

That looks fucking awesome.

That looks fucking horrible.

Well, I never expected the livery to change but I like the McLaren chrome so I’m not too bothered! It may technichally be the same design as ever, but that intimidating looking red barb on the engine cover makes it look quite different.
Also, is it just me or is it a darker shade of grey than last year?
Dahie
That red barb is pretty much the only interesting thing, the way it connects to the red on the rearwing is a nice touch.
I don’t think the grey is different, as it’s chrome it pretty much relies on the surrounding and the lighting condition.
