Have Force India been taking inspiration from concept McLaren liveries? We don’t know, but wherever they got their idea for their 2015 paint job, the point is that it’s a damned fine one.

Advance publicity teased it as something dramatic and different, but given the black and orange nature of their website and social media branding, it was hard to see exactly what would set it apart from their 2014 design. What we weren’t banking on, however, was the introduction of silver as the other main colour. If we weren’t so sure McLaren were moving completely away from the metal look this might be annoying – but as it is, unless Sauber or Lotus do something with black, it’s unlikely to clash too heavily with any other cars on the grid.

It’s a gorgeous combination of colours, applied in a manner that isn’t exactly flash, but which flows nicely on the car in an understated fashion. And they’ve finally –
finally – stopped plastering all their sponsor logos on in whatever colour they originally come in, instead applying them in a uniform white or black print as appropriate. While I’ve generally quite liked their last few cars, the team hadn’t yet done one that I’d outright
loved. This, however, is definitely that.

What with Williams sticking with their Martini job, and McLaren-Honda continuing to hint that white and red are on the horizon, 2015 (despite the reduced number of cars) is shaping up to be a livery year that I’m actually excited about. I hope it’ll last.

The front on view reminds me of Spyker, the rest of the livery had me thinking of their 2008 effort.
Far classier this year and that heavens Claro is white. Nice choice of colours, but I still think it could use one or two less logos on the car.

Love the new livery, very 98-2000 Visteon Champ Car which was one of my favourite liveries. Would like to see the orange replaced with green on Hulkenberg’s car (or vice versa), unfortunately Bernie and the FIA wouldn’t want the two cars to be different. Good job FI!

The livery seems quite bland to me. Very corporate, detracting from the personality of the team. I do like the hint of green in the VJM08 text on the inside of the rear wing endplates, and personally don’t think this is the definitive livery. Quakerstate is traditionally seen with a green background, and I think Roshfrans will be back. I imagine when that deal is sorted the rear wing endplate (outside) will return to the look seen on the 2014 car with the inclusion of Quakerstate.

Glad to see the site is back!
This is a nice livery, certainly way better than the last one, which I felt was one of the cheapest looking designs in years (especially with the bizarre rear wing endplates).
Still, I do wonder why they felt the need to move away from the green, white and orange livery they had between 2009 and 2013. It gave them an identity, it was unique, Indian, colourful, and in my opinion very nice

Its a copy of McLaren’s prior to chrome.
And the logo placement on the engine cover is so bad. It completely ruins it.

Best of a boring bunch so far. Bring back primary bold colours and dramatic design and lose the fussy airbrushed look. It is dull at a distance which is how most view these cars.

They have updated this livery a bit for Barcelona test. Looks like they forgot to put green on the car, so they added a green line at the bottom of sidepods
