The Top 25 F1 Liveries of All Time : #20

Another selection that might cause a bit of consternation, this, as the car – and the season – aren’t particularly fondly remembered by British racing fans. After all, it’s the car in which Damon Hill endured one of the worst ever seasons by a reigning world champion. On the other hand, though – it’s also the car in which Hill almost snatched a famous victory at the Hungaroring, with one of the all-time great F1 drives culminating in an agonising mechanical failure. And it makes classy use of a simple blue-and-white colour scheme. The sponsor logos are all wisely made to conform to the design, the red parts picked out on the wings are a neat offset, and once again, I really like the big chunky race numbers. It was a good look, and a shame the team didn’t stick with it for longer – although their 1998 effort (all in black, with the same sponsor logos as ’97 only in plain white) was something of a doozy, as well…

I really liked this one, being a fan of a huge Hill fan, i thought the car looked great. Much better than the red and blue affort they had from the year before. I agrre with the black and white car from the next season, it did look pretty good.
