Launch Roundup: Ferrari, Mercedes, Toro Rosso

So, as you can probably imagine, we were a bit busy with our own new livery job yesterday to look at the new cars that have begun to make their way onto the track in advance of - and during - this week's testing. But let's take the opportunity now to have a look at the three cars that, rather unsurprisingly, have been painted almost identically to last year... [Read More]

Fantasy 2015 Liveries Are A Big Thing Right Now And We Love Them

Perhaps it's the fact that 2014 didn't see too many in the way of drastic changes to the previous year's liveries - or perhaps it's just that we expect that 2015 may see a radically different style grid for more reasons than one - but whatever the rationale, it seems that there's a growing trend among fantasy F1 livery designers to already be looking forwards to next year, and styling possible future cars. 2014 Launch Roundup

We've been caught on the hop somewhat by the quick succession of F1 launches that have taken place without much in the way of advance fanfare over the past few days - but fortunately, as few of the teams in question have made much in the way of changes to their liveries, we should be able to rattle through them... 2013: The Year of Spray Paint?

A company with a well-established history who made a major technological breakthrough in their field a few years back, but who have been left struggling to catch up as their rivals took their work, improved it and left them in the dust, now making one big last-ditch attempt to achieve relevance. But enough about Mercedes, what about their new sponsor Blackberry, eh? Eh? [Read More]

Right, then. We’ve now seen all twelve of 2011’s Formula One liveries. I wanted to wait, before doing the usual summary post, until we’d seen them all running on track in testing – but frankly, from the looks of things we may not see the HRT in motion before Melbourne [Read More]

Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Silver Arrows

Three launches yesterday, three launches today. No let up, is there? I’m a bit slower catching up on these – partly because I was busy at work today, and partly because none of them really involve anything we haven’t already seen – but let’s do a run-through for the [Read More]

2010 Liveries : The Verdict!

Well, with all 12 teams’ liveries now unveiled, and the season opening race mere days away, I thought it time to take one last look at all 12 together, to see how they compare to one-another – and to the history of liveries in general – and give them all marks out of ten. [Read More]

New(ish) Red Bull…

Nothing much new to see here, aside from a couple of small additions to the sponsor portfolio. The main point of interest is seeing the car with #5 on it (don’t ask me why, but I always find it interesting when a team more used to finishing at the lower end of the championship moves up into [Read More]

Lesser-Spotted F1 Liveries

Some F1 liveries are iconic. The rosso corsa Ferrari, as used for decades. The red and white Marlboro McLaren, raced by legends such as Senna and Prost. The variations of the blue and white colour scheme used by Williams during their glory years in the '80s and '90s. The Silver Arrows Mercedes which was synonymous with both Mercedes in the '50s and McLaren over 40 years later. But not all designs reach this level of prominence. Some are consigned to the dustbin after no more than one or two events. Some are never raced at all. Others are never even intended to be raced! Created for reasons as varied as charity promotion, sponsorship changes and regulation disputes, this is a collection of obscure F1 liveries. [Read More]
