Force India Mix It Up With Smirnoff

Aside from McLaren shuffling through various sidepod sponsors, and Lotus shifting PDVSA to theirs in somewhat ugly fashion, we haven't had much in the way of dramatic livery changes since the start of the season. Force India, however, have just announced a new sponsorship deal - and with it comes a slightly altered livery. [Read More]

2014 Launch Roundup

We've been caught on the hop somewhat by the quick succession of F1 launches that have taken place without much in the way of advance fanfare over the past few days - but fortunately, as few of the teams in question have made much in the way of changes to their liveries, we should be able to rattle through them... Force India surprise with surprise early release of surprise new livery

Well, this is nice. Force India have flouted usual convention when it comes to new livery/car announcements, by suddenly shuffling an image of their 2014 challenger onto the web without having previously announced an actual launch date or anything. And not only have they surprised us with the timing of it, but they've surprised us by having a completely new livery as well. Which is even better, because it actually gives us something to talk about... [Read More]

Yes, yes, I'm still playing catchup - the Lotus has already launched, and here I am talking about the new Force India. But let's deal with the first car of 2012 that does actually have a fair bit to talk about on the livery front first... [Read More]

New Force India a bit different, too!

Did they know the Hispania was also going to be white and do this consciously? Kudos, anyway, to Force India for taking their basic colour scheme and actually changing it year on year. Although from the front at least, you can’t help but wonder if they’ve employed the same graphic [Read More]

2010 Liveries : The Verdict!

Well, with all 12 teams’ liveries now unveiled, and the season opening race mere days away, I thought it time to take one last look at all 12 together, to see how they compare to one-another – and to the history of liveries in general – and give them all marks out of ten. [Read More]

New(ish) Force India…

You have to be a bit eagle-eyed to spot it, but there is a bit of a difference between this year’s car and last… Aside from a bit of sponsor-shuffling (and the addition of Reebok to the rear-wing endplate [EDIT: except of course, as has been pointed out, that was added partway through [Read More]

Lesser-Spotted F1 Liveries

Some F1 liveries are iconic. The rosso corsa Ferrari, as used for decades. The red and white Marlboro McLaren, raced by legends such as Senna and Prost. The variations of the blue and white colour scheme used by Williams during their glory years in the '80s and '90s. The Silver Arrows Mercedes which was synonymous with both Mercedes in the '50s and McLaren over 40 years later. But not all designs reach this level of prominence. Some are consigned to the dustbin after no more than one or two events. Some are never raced at all. Others are never even intended to be raced! Created for reasons as varied as charity promotion, sponsorship changes and regulation disputes, this is a collection of obscure F1 liveries. [Read More]
