1969: McLaren Ford

The grid became increasingly more colourful in 1969, but the best-looking car out there was one that actually retained its previous paint job. Like the red Ferrari, there’s something about the orange McLaren that looks intentional rather than simply being based around a country’s chosen colour. The car is actually improved by the addition of a few sponsor logos – it looks racy and aggressive. Why would you need to change it just because a new regulation allowed it?
